Travel Advice...

Most of our friends (that's you bloggers) have already been to Europe. And as you know, the Moores here a little behind (on more things than European travelling); however, we started making our plans for our first EUROPEAN VACATION to which I am so excited about that I just might not be able to sleep tonight. (I am suddenly completely over my terrible sinus infection/strep/tuberculosis I have had all week!!!) We have narrowed down a date and did hold some flights but are interested in adjusting those, but I will have to call AA for their services for this type vacay.
So, where do you come in bloggers? Well, FILL ME IN on where to go, what to do, how to do it all, you know...all the european scoop. I am feeling a little overwhelmed at this point so I want to get some good solid advice. I actually had a patient hand sketch me a map of Italy that was very accurate of his favorite places-he is a super-traveller.
Now, obviously I want to go to every country. But, we have narrowed our choices to the top five that both of us have always wanted to see: Italy & Switzerland for sure and then Austria, Germany, and then France. Right now we are looking at 11 days-2 of which are travel days. We of course would love to stay longer, but hey, I have convinced Brad that you can't do Europe in a weekend, so this is completely workable! We might just do Italy and Switzerland actually-see this is why I need your expertise...
So let me know. Of the few of you that still read my blog, you all should have my email. If you don't - leave me a comment and we will connect.
Danke, Merci, and Mille Grazie

Speaking from No experience, i would watch European Vacation and then try to duplicate it.

In exchange for this advice I am requesting one scarf from the county of Manchester in England that supports the football club Manchester United.

you didn't read too closely-england is not on the itinerary-is there another scarf from somewhere else i can get you?

I would like a scarf from Rwanda. I hear it is booming there now that government is back in control. It is a little south of Europe but has to be better than France. If you think that is too warm for you try Finland or Iceland your grandfather was stationed in Iceland during the Big War and they might remember him.

I have no idea when it comes to what to see in Europe. I will probably be asking you 10 years from now what we should go see. I have heard that Italy and Switzerland are beautiful though.

Miss a few days and miss a lot with you posting three at once. Glad your trip was all that you expected and more. It is always nice to be able to get away and relax for a little bit.

Like you, I have not had the pleasure of traveling in Europe, so I have absolutely no input to give. It was great, though, to have something (or 4 new things) to read on your blog! Kudos Meredith!

By the way, my parents like Venice a lot...they've been there...brats.

I am so excited for you! What a wonderful trip to get to plan :) I wish I had advice for you... but really- who would want travel advice from me anyway!

Girl...I read your blog, b ut have no advice for you as I've never been to Europe either. However, I was supposed to go to Switzerland w/some people, but the girls bailed and the thought of being with Don, Laine & Brad by myself for a week was just too....well...frightening. : ) Long story.

BUT I'm so glad you're going before me so you'll learn what to do & not do and can pass your wisdom on to the rest of us!!

I have to admit I'd love to hear some "Ali goes to Europe" stories...can you imagine?? Funny, funny! Good luck!

Well, I have to say that I am a little biased toward Switzerland - it's amazing! You and Brad are MORE than welcome to stay with us while you are in Switzerland. We have an extra room for guests. We live in Lausanne on Lake Geneva and we can see France from our dining room window. We have a few pics posted on our blog or I can send you some of my kodakgallery slideshows if you want to see more. Good luck and have fun! (Traci Dunbar)

Hey Mere! SO glad to see new reading material on your blog! Looks like you guys had a fabulous time in Canada! That sounds like something Trent and I would like. Love the new car! Very fun! No Europe advice here and probably not for a real long time if ever with the way our life has changed! You look beautiful as always. How blessed you are with such wonderful family.
