Pulmonology Update

We all packed up and went to the pulmonologist this morning for little Garrett. He did great for his chest xray and it looked really good. Dr. C said he sounded great-breathing very slowly and relaxed. He laughed that we had (or Brad) had weaned him off the O2. He doesn't want us to think he may not need it again though...we still are going to do the sleep study on the 12th and then we will go from there. He reduced his diuretic to only once a day (might save us on some diapers there) and kept him on his inhaler. He said if it was the beginning of summer he wouldn't be so concerned about him but heading into winter and cold season just makes him nervous and he wants to continue to keep him on a close watch. We still keep his monitor hooked up but he said to start weaning ourselves off of that-meaning start getting comfortable with him off of it b/c eventually we won't have it on him and we will worry so much wondering if he is ok.
He weighed just over 8 pounds so that is great but he spits up A LOT so we are going to try some reflux medicine for 2 weeks to see if that helps at all...trial and error...but easier than getting into the upper GI tests!
We head to the pediatrician tomorrow for both kids and then the cardiologist on Wed just to follow up on Garrett's PDA. I will continue to update!
A fun thing happened when we went today though-we ran into an old friend, Summer! (It was so good to see you and I may just call you to pick your brain about all this stuff! It was encouraging to know this all gets easier!)
