Kathryn is doing very well at home! We are getting into a semi-consistant schedule and overall she is still pretty content most of the time. She loves to take her time eating these days and I am trying my best to b-feed her as much as possible rather than giving her a bottle b/c she is becoming lazy b/c the bottle is so easy!

My little Garrett is also doing well but still in the NICU. He just can't kick that oxygen and they are threatening to send him home with it and a monitor...which totally scares me. The pulmonologist met with Brad tonight and said G would definitely go home on O2 and would most likely be off of it by SPRING... WHAT??? You've got to be kidding me!! That's NOT what I wanted to hear but we will do whatever it takes!!!

He is the sweetest baby though...he absolutely LOVES to be held and cuddled and it breaks my heart to leave him each morning. He is a tremendous b-feeder...he goes to town and would feed for an hour if the nurses would let him - I just let him keep going until they come in and bug me about it...he is going to be so rotten b/c I already just want to let him do whatever his little heart wants. Speaking of which, several of you have asked about his heart and his his PDA hole. When they checked it again, they said it was just "intermitent" so they weren't concerned at all with it - it was closing on its own.

And as for momma here...we were certain I had moved past all my "dramas" but once again I throw a wrench in things...I got Mastitis over the weekend and let me tell you...that is NOT fun. I woke up with a high fever and flu symptoms and now I am on some good ole antibiotics...lovely! Oh well, as long as it's not the babies I can handle anything! Speaking of which...gotta go feed Kathryn!

So good to read an update! We continue to keep ya'll in our prayers. Mastitis is the worst pain I've ever felt. I had it once with Cora and once with Claire. And both times - I just quit b-feeding. So AWESOME for you that you are trucking along. You are such a great momma! I miss you and can't wait to see more pictures!

Meredith - we will continue to pray for all four of you! I know it has got to be tough on you guys to leave Garrett at the hospital each day. We are praying for him to go home soon and to get off the oxygen sooner than the doctors expect! Please let us know if there is anything you guys need

Mastitis is awful...had it with Keegan, but thank goodness for the antibiotics! I hated hearing "oh, just nurse through it!" I was thinking...do you even know what you are talking about? I kept going, though...keep it up! I love reading about the little ones! Love to you all!

I am going to pray for little Garrett. I remember the doctors telling me the same thing and then within 12 hours, she was off of it. They never know and it is all such a guessing game I have found over the last few years. Even if he does require it for awhile, I am praying that it will be for a short time. It is such an emotional roller coaster. I'm praying for all of you!

Hi Meredith,

My name is Cristin (Lescalleet) Douthitt. I don't know if you remember me, but we met our freshman year at ACU when I started dating Andy Douthitt. (Zach Garza's brother) from Waterview. Anyway, I am "facebook friends" with Jamie Mayo and I saw your name on his blog and got caught up in your story. Andy and I have been married for 7 years now and we have a 4 year old son, Dylan. I was also on bed rest during my pregnancy, so I can relate a little bit to what you went through. Well, after college I decided to into the dental field also. I work for a dentist in Plano. She became pregnant with twin boys last May and is a patient of Dr Wells. When I saw his name on your blog, I told her a little bit about your story of being in the hospital and your amazing positive attitude. She has recently had some complications (she is due at the end of January) and has been put in the hospital (Presby) on bed rest until she delivers. She got a little down last week and she told me that dr wells said that the girl that was in her room before was in there for 109 days and now had 2 beautiful babies and if she can do it, anybody can! Well, we put two and two together, and she is the one that is in your old room!! She told me that the nurses told her that you were asking who was in your room. Isn't that such a small world?? I just thought that i would share that with you.
Congratulations to you and your beautiful family. We pray that each day brings new blessings.
