Kathryn is doing well and is completely off the oxygen. She may get to move into a regular bed in the NICU today or tomorrow. It turns out Garrett maybe isn't a wimpy white boy after all. They did an echocardiogram yesterday and it revealed that he has a large PDA (patent ductus arteriosus) and pulmonary hypertension. Thus the reason he hasn't improved at all since Monday and hasn't been able to breathe much on his own. They're going to do another echocardiogram this morning to see if the treatment they gave him overnight worked. It's tough to see him still hooked up to all of the equipment as his sister continues to improve, but we feel confident in the doctors to work through these issues.
Meredith is taking it one day at a time. She gets tired very easily and her blood pressure still isn't quite under control. We know it's going to take her some time, maybe several weeks, to feel even slightly strong again.
Please continue to keep Meredith, Garrett & Kathryn in your prayers and I'll post updates as we get them.
